I know THIS package made it so I'm going to go ahead and post.

I had made the first apron using polka dots and on the off chance it is ever found, thought I'd go with stripes for this one. I used a really cute tea towel I had been saving. I cut it up and added darts so it would fit better.
The colors are actually a lot brighter in person, I took this picture at night.

the pocket has some appliqued limes on it...and spilled salt. I tried hand beading at first but couldn't get the same look for the spilled salt so used some washable fabric glue for it...hope it works!

here are the other goodies....a couple crocheted hot pads, drink mix, coasters with margaritas on them (thanks to Chili's restaurant) some rimming salt, napkins, glasses and a cute recipe holder with several good recipes in it. The giant oven mitt doesn't match the theme but since she loves polka dots I had to add it :-)

You make a NEW package....one that isn't like the other one because the postman says it isn't lost (riiiiiiiight)...but still.....you don't want two of the exact same thing once it does get there.

It's been a little crazy at my house so I'm running behind on posting my fabulous new apron and swap goodies. Amy S. sent me these wonderful goodies! Paper umbrellas, that were quickly scoffed up by my daughter and one by a naughty little pug puppy. Not to worry we got it away from him. Amy really tailored the package to me. She sent a red(my favorite color) drink container with a spout, a healthy recipes magazine and a whole slue of Sharpies. I love Sharpies!

Amy also made me a marvelous apron using a fabric called martini. The apron fits perfectly, though you can't tell from my blurry photo. I love wearing it! There's also a matching hot pad/potholder.

Amy, I appreciate all of the goodies you sent for me! Thank you for a fabulous apron and swap package!!

I love all of my tuck-ins. Do you notice a yellow theme going on here?? Jill sent homemade zucchini relish, potholders, napkins, drink stirrers, yellow flatware, cups, crystal lite, and a sweet little caddy to put it all in. It was just what I needed to cheer me up as I prepared to head back to school! I enjoy my teacher-schedule, but always feel a little sad when it's time to head back...so this package was just the sunshine I needed. THANKS JILL!!!

I am so late in posting my wonderful swap goodies, received from the talented Kerry! Oh I was treated so well by her and want to thank her so, so much!

First, the apron is just adorable and fits great! An apron with actually a little extra room..and reversible to boot!

And, so many goodies…a cuuuute kitchen towel that is cross stitched with a smiling martini glass, 8 Christmas wine charms, and some beverage glass labels!

And how great is this, Mojito and Appletini Crystal Light, swizzle sticks and a nice quartet of yummy scented hand purifier in purse size, perfect!

Donna made me this super cute apron, ready for a cool drink party. The pic doesn't do the bright linen fabric justice, but let me tell you, it is so stinkin' adorable! I love it! It's Mail Time

My package arrived from Jennifer on Friday afternoon. I was sitting on the back deck enjoying the sunshine with my husband when the dog started barking at the mailman. This is not unusual so I didn't do much. That is until one of my kids came running with a box in their hands. I was really excited to dig right in and see what had came!

On top were these fun hurricane glasses with straws. My kids were frantically racing to get their hands on them to claim which one was theirs. I had to quickly show them away so that I could see into the rest of the package. The other items were all individually wrapped which was fun for the suspense factor, but I just wanted in! I was like the proverbial kid in a candy store and I wanted to get my hands on everything quickly. There was a cute pack of napkins that say "RELAX summer is here". Some fun hurricane drink mix to put into those wild bright cups. Cute as can be pink rubber cleaning gloves. I may get a little thrill out of my housework now... And my apron. I only saved it for last because it was at the bottom of the box and because it is fabulous! The drink print is mainly black with some bright drinks and yummy fruit on it.

The minute my husband saw the fabric he said, "Wow Laci, that is so you". What a wonderful compliment to receive. The top has a light pink checkered print and a light blue flowered print. They are both beautiful.

I absolutely love how the blue print is scrunched like that. I have no idea how Jennifer did that, but Jennifer, if you are reading this, please post some comments because I would love to try and replicate it.

I got this cute little half apron from Micki - she was inspired by my favorite drink, Coke, for the colors. You might not know this, but in Georgia, the term for all soft drinks down here is "coke". If you go to a restaurant and ask, "What kind of coke do you have?" they will reply with, "We have Coke, Sprite, Dr. Pepper ....."

I'm sorry to say that I didn't have a bra on this evening, and y'all do NOT want to see me without a bra - so I got my son to model the apron for me. It turned into two of my boys hamming it up and us having fun with Picnik editing the pictures. If you've never been to that site before - go now.

I also got these little duck and chick figures with newspaper print on them. Aren't they cute?

I received a wonderful apron from Xochitl, my swap partner. Since we are in the middle of our move still, I am trying to find my camera! Hopefully I will get a picture of it tomorrow, but just ignore the craziness of the house.

I just loved everything she sent, especially the lemony fabric coasters. Very much my style! Oh and the orange OPI nail polish was perfect! So many neat things in the package.

I got the neatest surprise tonight!

Susan K. had her daughter hand deliver my apron swap package.

It was in an incredibly beautiful box with really neat tuck-ins and a gorgeous apron.

Well, I never could find any cute fabric with daiquiris, or lemons, or blenders that called my name - so I ended up using some of Amy Butler's Martini fabric. I really planned on going with a whole cool Martini/Bond/shaken, not stirred theme to go along with this cool fabric - but I didn't. My partner is going to end up with a hodgepodge of tuck-ins that I hope she likes.

I really did have it ready by Saturday and was heading out the door after lunch to go to the Post Office, when my husband informed me they close at noon on Saturdays. "When did that happen???", I asked. "Always", said he. I could have sworn they were open until 2:00, oh well. So it's going to be late, but it should be there at the latest on Friday.

Sneaky Swapper!

Yes I said it! Karen is a sneaky swapper! And so are Regena and Amy for that matter! I spent four days with Karen and Crazy Amy when Regena and I went to So Cal last weekend to visit them and even said I wanted some of the blender fabric when we went M & L Fabrics. They ALL talked me out of it. I know there was some laughing, sewing and smirks going on behind my back.....I was raving over Karen's wonderful fabric choices and her lucky swap partner. I love red and polka dots and the touch of blue just brings it all together beautifully. She gave me some song and dance about who her partner was, that her partner didn't drink alcoholic beverages (I do), should she use rick-rack or dingleballs...blah...blah...blah...and low and behold what is waiting for me when I get home today? But this most awesome apron! The one I have been drooling over since I saw her fabric combo! OMGoodness it's beautiful and bright and fun and I LOVE IT!

Hand stamped ribbon! and aren't these blenders soooo cute!?

She also sent a wonderful margarita recipe book, His & Her Margarita Mats (which I plan to use this weekend), margarita magnet and a wonderful scrapbook kit titled "Margarita." She knows my love of scrapbooking!

Thank you Karen for this beautiful one-of-a-kind "Sweet Karen" apron. I LOVE IT!

I love that you managed to incorporate red (my favorite color) and polka dots as well!

Look at these adorable little drinks she appliqued with the hand cut strawberries and lemons!

She also sent me yummy recipes, a darling heart necklace with a lemon in the heart and a tiny strawberry that dangles in the front of it, crocheted strawberries and she even glittered some faux strawberries and put them into a fruit basket that she got from her grandmother (they used to pick raspberries in them) How sweet is that? I'll be honest though, I think I may have scared my dog when I squealed out loud when I saw the vintage rick rac and trim you included!

I received my Apron package from Madelyn!

My swap package was delivered yesterday. I was on my way out for the evening and when I went outside it was sitting on my doorstop. So I took it in the car with me cause I really wanted to open it immediately! My partner Madelyn was so clever as she made my apron reversible. On one side it was a cute cocktail themed apron. There is even a little bit of glitter on some of the cocktail glasses on the fabric. There is two nice pockets trimmed in large pink rick rac.

On the reverse side was cute little cupcakes! The cupcake fabric looked so cute! There was also pockets and they were trimmed in a cute pink and green braided type trim.

My swap partner made me matching potholders and matching coasters in each of the fabrics! So that means there is 2 potholders and 8 coasters. She also include a neat cupcake recipe book that has 500 recipes for some delicious and beautiful looking cupcakes. She also sent me a silicone spatula and a set of matching cupcake liners and cupcake toppers.

I also received the two dish towels that were machine embroidered with the cutest cocktails! I had previously commented on them when Madelyn first posted about them. I just recently got an embroidery machine and don't really know how to use it and that is why I thought they were so clever and cute!

I absolutely love everything that I received in my swap package and am now the owner of another cute reversible apron! I just love these swaps!

My apron is on it's way to my swap partner! I hope she likes the apron that I made for her and all the goodies I sent also. My swap partner doesn't drink alcohol so I was thinking more of a refreshing cool fruity drink when I picked out my fabric for the apron. I really had a hard time finding any fabric in my area that really spoke to me when I was thinking cocktails. As soon as I started thinking about other cool drinks I saw lots of fabrics that would work.

I made it a flirty and kinda sexy apron though! I of course had to add a little lace ruffle also as I love ruffles and lace! Pink and orange make a nice color combination. There are two pockets on the front also. I also cut the bottom of the skirt into a couple of curves- kind of ruffly on it's own.

I made some cloth coasters out of some fabric I brought back from my last trip to Hawaii when I was there visiting my daughter. Of course I had to include some colorful umbrella picks that she can either use in her fruit drinks or she can use them as picks to decorate her food. I also sent her two palm tree dish towels that I found at a local store. I liked them so much that I also bought some to include in my Aloha Flirty Apron Swap package and a few for myself!

In keeping with the pinks I also sent her some cloth placemats and coordinating cloth napkins. She could use those anytime to cheer up her table.

Here's the final apron. I can't show the tuck-ins because it will give my partner away. Let's just say she's east of the Rockies and she likes football.....

It's hard to tell but there are 3 pockets along the middle trimmed with the green polka-dot fabric.

I love this fabric. It's bright and cherry and the picture doesn't do it justice!

Little White Rabbit

I feel like the little white rabbit from Alice and Wonderland (I know, wrong swap) "I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date". I just got my fabric in the mail on Monday. I had a bit of a delay getting it. I live about an hour away from the nearest fabric store so I don't get there that often. I didn't bother to look online because I thought for sure the fabric store would have something. Well either they didn't have anything or I couldn't find anything but I came home disappointed. So I ordered up something online. (thankfully they are adding a fabric department and building a fabric store within 5 to 15 minutes of home ~ that will be so much nicer!) Well I waited for the fabric to arrive I worked on one of my tuck-ins. Here is a little sneak peak.

So like I said fabric arrived on Monday. I washed and pressed it on Tuesday. I will start sewing today. Now the pressure is on. I leave for vacation this coming Tuesday, so I have got to get things done and to the post office right quick.

Well, I am stuck waiting a whole week before my fabric shows up on Monday (according to my tracking number anyway) but here is what is coming my way!
Not sure how I am going to incorporate the mix, but I've got a few ideas up my sleeves.

Well, DH and I made a big purchase this week that might help inspire my swap partner to create something for me :)

We bought this:

It's 100 yrs old (or at least that's when the water was hooked up to the city. We found an old well in the backyard).

And I'm going to have to give our swap mama my new address because we move in 3 weeks! We saw the house for the first time June 20 and got the keys Thursday. Big changes! Vintage house. And one HOT mama because the house doesn't have air conditioning!

Here is what we are swapping:

1 HANDMADE apron created using fabric that depicts cold beverages or cocktails. If you can't find fabric, make an applique!
a note on the apron: these aprons and embellishments are to be sewn. If you use glue for some reason, please make sure it is washable fabric glue. When someone washes an apron that has had something "fixed" with glue from a glue gun, it falls apart in the machine, leaving the apron ruined and the owner sad.

Include 3 fun summer themed items to round out your package (swizzle sticks, coasters, cocktail napkins, drink recipes...etc.) These can be purchased or handmade.

You should plan on spending about $10.00 (or creating something to the equivalent) on this package before shipping.

I didn't take a closer picture because it already had been used... and a little dirty.

But the detailing was phenomenal. The pocket was quilted. The straps were perfectly done. The ruffled bottom. Everything was reenforced and had clean edges. I mean really, really well done.

Okay everyone!! I got my apron today right in the middle of one of my Violin students lessons!! I saw the UPS truck pull up, and I had to stop the lesson because this wonderful package that Amy sent me was delivered in the rain...That's right I said rain. If it isn't Snowing in Chicago, It is raining, and then probably flooding. Anyway, I finished the lesson up and pushed my student and his family out the door so I could open this big square package with my name on it!!!!! So I will tell you what is in it, and then I will take pictures of everything and post the pictures later on tonight!! I got...Drum roll please!!!!!...a hand held Owl mask colored by Amy... a very nice letter written on the back of it, so when I use it to hide from someone, I can tell everyone I had to read Amy's message to me again!! She is such a sweetie!!! Then I got a Chicken Cookie Jar, just so cool! I love it!! Inside that wonderful cookie jar was an owl apron with the same owl fabric that I had sent Amy! I also got a Chicken Hot Pad, with great detailing!! Just simply wonderful! She also sent me something the rest of you are just going to drool over! Her own personal recipe booklet from: Do You Know the Muffin Pan!!!! Yeah Me!!! I feel so special!! Thank you Amelia! Now I should explain a few things!! Since in this particular swap we new in advance who our swap partner was, Amy and I had been in touch with each other, and since we both loved owls we chose to swap owl aprons instead. I am hoping Amy will post pictures of the package I sent her so everyone can see what I made. I didn't post pictures simply because I wanted her to be surprised with her gifts!! You did a great job with the Apron and all the very special tuck ins Amy!! I just love you to death!! Keep posting those great recipes!!! Okay, I am back with pictures to post!!

Things have been so crazy here I never got a chance to get a picture in my gorgeous apron Missy made for me! We're getting our house ready to sell (despite the rather depressing stats about our particular market) and have family visit, plus Spring Break...well...I finally snagged one of the kids to take a picture.

I promise I am a grown up. I think I look about 15 in the picture LOL Which is good I guess because I look older than I used to :P When my older kids were small, I'd have people ask if I was the babysitter or if I were even old enough to have kids .... not very funny at the time.

I love the apron and the colors. The scallops on the swirlies remind me of a rooster's feathers, so it really fits the theme of the swap, especially with the cute embroidered chickens on the pockets.

I apologize for not posting sooner, I came down with the dreaded stomach flu the other day and never got a post done showing what awesome items Deanna sent to me! I apologize also to Deanna for not emailing her that I received her package, I am usually not sick! I did email her this morning..I have not been near my computer for a couple days..aside of when traveling, that is a near record for me.

Ok, voila!

I was so excited to get to everything, but like everyone else, I relished the moment and took pictures before tearing into everything!

I'm such a lucky chick :-) Here's the Chicken Lovin' apron package I got from Madelyn. Madelyn spoiled me by letting ME pick out the fabric - is that cool or what! I picked the blue chickens fabric and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Here's the apron - it's full sized, has roomy pockets, and is reversible, too!

She made a fabulously useful oven mitt to match...and included a wooden spaghetti fork, pretty nail file, and BEADS!!! I LOVE BEADS!!! And the BEADS!!! are BLUE!!!

Ok...I think I've calmed down now from my BEADS!!! euphoria ;-) Madelyn also embroidered these fine chickens on some dishtowels! Too pretty to use? Probably...but I'm going to try to make myself use them anyways. She also included a chicken cookbook and some very yummy mints. When I saw the mints, I thought "Hmmm...mints..." but when I put the first one in my mouth, I thought "WOW...mints!" because they are sweet little pillows of heaven that melt in my mouth! Ummm, I don't have a picture, because, ummm, well, they are all gone! Thank you, Madelyn, for a wonderful swap package! The apron and mitt are hanging on my fridge right now, and maybe I'll convince myself to use the towels real soon ;-)

Chickens In Da House!!

I was so excited to find this package waiting on my front porch this morning. Let me just say, Denise S.P.O.I.L.E.D. me!

Look at all of the goodies! I could hardly wait, but resisted tearing into the tuck-ins to take a picture.

Denise sent some great recipes, matching recipe cards, note cards, coupon holder, and journal, a recipe box, PEEPS (a fav of mine), chocolate chickies, and the MOST adorable chicken salt and pepper shakers! Let's just say...ummm...great minds think alike (this will make sense when Denise gets her package).

Dontcha just love the picture?? My hubby is working out of town, so my 5 year old proudly stepped up and helped out. I adore this apron! It is beautiful and beautifully made. Thanks Denise! I can't wait until you get your package! Thanks for another great swap, Val!

Chickens in Hawaii

This isn't an apron post, it's more of a chicken post! Those of you who know me, know that I just came back from a vacation in Hawaii. I spent a week on the island of Kauai visiting my sister and her family. This was my first visit to Hawaii. Knowing I was heading on vacation I quickly finished up my apron package and sent it off to my fabulous partner Chrissy. Now in hindsight I wish I had waited because did you know that Kauai is chicken heaven? It turns out it really is, there are wild chickens everywhere!!!!

There were wild chickens in every parking lot from the Walmart parking lot to the sight seeing parking lots. You can't drive a quarter of a mile without seeing a chicken on the side of the road or in someone's yard. As a matter of fact we ate at Dukes on the patio one evening. My daughter looked down to find a chicken by her chair. It ran under the table and over the top of my sister's foot before exiting the patio through the bushes. I think that chicken was looking for an adrenaline rush! Imagine showing up at a restaurant! Crazy!

This chicken is on the playground at the school my nieces attend. He disappeared when the kids came out for recess. I think many of the kids like to chase the chickens!

This one was my favorite rooster. Look at all of those colors! He was strutting around at one of the Waimea Canyon lookout stops.

Here's another pretty boy. This guy was hanging out on the beach with us. I think it was Baby Beach which is part of Poipu beach. See I'm telling you there were chickens EVERYWHERE!!!

We learned on the Kilohana Plantation tour that back in 1992 and 1993 a series of hurricanes destroyed many of the chicken coops on the island. The chickens ran free. It turns out that there are no snakes or natural predators that eat chickens on Kauai so the chicken population keeps growing. Now there are chickens everywhere on the island. there are also tons of chicken souvenirs that you can purchase! One vendor joked with us, saying "For every chicken item you purchase we'll give you a real chicken to take home for free!"

If you've always wanted to see chicken heaven you have to visit Kauai! The island was beautiful and the chickens are plentiful!

Jennifer's camera wasn't behaving so I am posting what I sent her. It arrived and she approved...so here goes:

the rest of the package.....since she has a wee one, I kept that in mind and went with cookie cutters. She had been looking for a copy of the Little Red Hen so I'm glad I included it.
oh and see the pocket? Yeah...after making it, I couldn't bring myself to put it on the apron...decided to let her choose!

as most of you know, I host YOE so I felt compelled to include a Christmas ornament.....a chicken one!

I wanted to upload these yesterday but just didnt want to fight with my lap top. I am learning my new apple and its just not as cut and dry on finding the pictures for me. Today I dont have the sinus headache I had yesterday so walla! I found them. :)

Now I am SO in love with not only my goodies but also my aprons....Yup thats right I got TWO!!!!!
Laura sent me this awesome mug rug with the roosters on it, a way cool chicken mug ( I didnt have one),Some yummy tea (and it was), two wonderful recipes that I cant wait to try, and the cutest chicken clip. That chicken clip is so dang cute I cant even tell yall!
Now please forgive Martha for not showing them off to their best. As I said I was fighting a sinus headach yesterday. Otherwise I would show yall just how perfectly they fit me. Martha is a tad bit chunkier so they dont fit her quite as well. But I digress, are they not the bomb!!!!!
I cant decide which is my favorite. And wear these to take care of the chickens? Heck no! I love them Laura, THANK YOU!

I was so excited to go to the PO on my lunch break today and pick up my package from Tammy! She had emailed me a couple of days ago sayiing that mine to her had arrived...but that she wasn't opening it till I got mine...to be fair! How sweet was that??!! So this was what I found inside: 2 cookbooks (I collect them!) some notecards, cute chicken recipe cards, a matching magnetic list pad, a giant red spatula....AND the most adorable chicken and polka-dot apron! I love it! (Hubby did not tello me my hair was such a disaster...oops!) And she did such a nice job of the sewing...you really need to see this gal's sewing abilities! Thank-you sooooo much Tammy!!

My Chicken Apron

Thank you, Xochitl, I love my apron! My husband wasn't home, so I relied on my 12 yr old to take the picture. You can't tell from the picture, but the small print on the fabric are cute little chickies. It's also reversible, you'll have to imagine the fabrics reversed.

I also got some much needed pot holders and a recipe for Green Pozole. I will admit that it has some ingredients that I have never used before in cooking and one I've never even heard of - but I think I'll try it tomorrow. It calls for hominy, and with me being from the south, I wonder if grits will be a good substitute? Just kidding, I will use what it calls for.

I got back from Hawaii yesterday to find a package from Chrissy just waiting for me. I have to admit I was too exhausted to open it yesterday. After some much needed sleep, I made it through the school day and planned to open my package this evening. My daughter who always"helps" me open my swap packages politely encouraged me to open it. She took the pictures for me.
Here I am wearing my new chicken apron and holding a cookbook stand. I love the colors and prints of the fabrics! The cookbook stand is my favorite color and it is my first chicken item. I know it's hard to believe, but I don't have any other chicken items.

These are the wonderful goodies Chrissy sent. The recipes are printed and attached to beautiful cardstock. They are so pretty! She included Easter sprinkles which my daughter has already made plans to use on ice cream and in baking.

Chrissy also sent these adorable owl hairclips for my daughter who loves owls (sorry the photo is sideways - I was too tired to fix it). Aren't they adorable?! My daughter was so excited and is planning to wear them tomorrow. She has an outfit picked out to show them off.

When 2011 came around, I decided I was going to cut back on the swaps that I did. You see I work full-time, have a busy life that doesn't leave a lot of sewing time. Well, Val had to go and post about the new HMAS -- CHICKENS! I love chickens so I just couldn't resist 'cause I'm truly a Chicken Lovin' Hot Mama!!!!!

My partner was Amy from California. What a neat person to swap with. It turns out we had several things in common. My package from Amy came and I could hardly contain my excitemen. Here ya go.......

Look at this box so full of goodies!!! See that black/white object? An adorable CHICKEN!! Love it.

I received a darlin' RED chicken T-towel -- perfect for my kitchen, an egg separator, a spatula (yep, that's baby chickens on there!), that precious black/white chicken, an ADORABLE x-stitch pin cushion, package of chicken broth, an awesome rooster figurine, and two fabulous recipes that I can't wait to try!

Look at this adorable 'convertible' apron. You can unbutton the bib and it becomes a half apron. Check out the T-towel sewed onto the apron -- love it. And all those different prints used -- why it goes perfect in my coop! THANK YOU AMY!!!!!! I LOVE EVERYTHING!!!!!!

For the past three to four years I have wanted to get some chickens. I don’t know that I particularly like them. I might actually be a little bit afraid of them. The chicks are cute, but when they are grown, I don’t know, what if they peck me. I really want them for the eggs. I think it would be so fun to gather your own eggs. Maybe this is a silly “city girl” fantasy, but I have it just the same. I bake a lot, especially pies; I can just imagine my business card saying pies made from scratch with fresh eggs. Well this swap just sounded like fun – Chicken Lovin’ Hot Mama’s. Of course I would want to join it.

I have been watching Val’s swaps for a while now just waiting to be brave enough to make an apron to give away. I don’t know that I was quite brave enough this time, but I sure had fun. Before I talk about all the fun I had with my end of things lets just skip to the best part - Opening my package.

I love getting mail! I just about have the mailman timed to the minute of when he will be at my house. I don’t know why, usually it is just bills, but I am like Steve and Blue from Blue’s Clues. ♪♫“Here’s the mail, it never fails, it makes me want to wag my talk, when it comes I want to wail –MAIL!”♫♪ Recently my mailman has thrown me all out of sorts. He is now delivering my mail about 4 ½ hours earlier. Yesterday, my son had an appointment and then we were going to be heading to the big city to do some shopping at the fabric store (of course). But I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t go from the appointment straight out of town. I had to swing by the house first just in case my package was they. Now you guessed it – it was there! I was super excited. I don’t know how some people can have the control to take a picture of the box, then a picture of it first opened, then a picture of the first layer, then a picture of…, then a picture of …, etc. I just ripped into it and started touch and feeling and ohhing and ahhing. (It wasn’t until today that I took my pictures).

She sent me a stack of recipes, it might take me weeks to try them all; a neat wooden pen and key chain; some cute spring band aids, which will come in handy with my two sons and my daughter who plays like a boy; a fun bundle of fabric, which I can not wait to use; some fun hand made cards with little chicks on the border; two pot holders, that beautifully match my apron; and my apron ...

It is a purple base with tags all over it that have the names of spices on them (thyme, lavender, caraway, chives and sage). It has yellow gingham pockets and neck straps. Amy said she was having a hard time finding chicken fabric that she liked so she embroidered some chickens in a nest with eggs and the words “farm fresh” on both of the pockets. Purple happens to be my favorite color and my kitchen is all pale yellow. The apron couldn’t have fit me better. Did I mention I am super jealous of her embroidery machine? That is on my wish list for the future.

The apron flares out on the bottom which may be perfect for collecting eggs in someday? (Now I hope you are not looking too closely – yes, that is me in my jammies this morning) What a fun package to open.

I really enjoyed getting her package together too. She posted about it here, but I wanted to add a few other photos.

This was my fist time making bias tape and it made a lot more than I expected. The first time took me almost an hour and a half with a ½ yard of fabric. The second time may have been just as long, but I broke it up into two different times.

I put in some quilted pot holders. I have never quilted before and when the directions said to quilt it about an inch or so bigger than the final size I thought, that is a waste of extra fabric. Well now I understand why, it shifts, shrinks and moves while quilting. (I hope that Amy didn’t notice that they were a little bit off)

Then I added in some snack sacks, some where for her three kids and the other were for another present. My kids love them and my 18 month old was really upset that they were empty. I hope that she loved getting it as much as I loved putting it together.

Wow! Regena seriously gets me! The apron couldn't be more fabulous and all the fun tuck ins! She even sent me a little girls' apron pattern for my 2 little grand-daughters that are due in May and June of this year :) The little yellow chicken pin cushion is too cute for words and she also included chicken poop lip balm...I know right? I know you all envy me...but maybe one day you can be as lucky as I was and you'll be blessed with one of her awesome creations!

As you can see, it is a fantabulous apron and the pincushion is beyond words.
I got a loverly cookbook, reeses eggs, tea bag holder fridge paper and the "i look like I lost 20lbs" apron!!

Micki sent me a wonderful package! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the apron and all the little tuck ins. She sent me 2 cookbooks, Chicken and a Biscuit Crackers, Triple Chunk Brownies recipes and my very favorite treat of all time....PEEPS!!!! I have already eaten 3!!! Thank you so much for the great swap!!!
